Palma de Mallorca, since December 2016 Palma (/ ˈ p ɑː l m ə / or / ˈ p ɑː m ə /, Catalan: , Spanish: ), is the capital and largest city of the autonomous community of the Balearic Islands in Spain. It is situated on the south coast of Mallorca on the Bay of Palma.The Cabrera Archipelago, though widely separated from Palma proper, is administratively considered part of the municipality.
Palma de Mallorca Airport occupies an area of 6.3 km 2 (2.4 sq mi). Due to rapid growth of passenger numbers, additional infrastructure was added to the two terminals A (1965) and B (1972). This main terminal was designed by local architect Pere Nicolau Bover and was officially opened on 12 April 1997.
