Broome Western Australia Travel
Welcome to Broome. Surrounded by the aquamarine waters of the Indian Ocean and the creeks, mangroves and mudflats of Roebuck Bay, this Yawuru country is a good 2000km from the nearest capital city. Broome Holidays & Travel Guide Located 2,200km north of Perth, Broome is a popular tourist town in Western Australia's Kimberley region renowned for its pearling industry. Situated on the Yawuru people's traditional lands, Broome is one of Australia's fastest growing towns thanks to its tourism industry and mining boom.
Virgin Australia and Qantas fly to Broome and it is serviced by most Australian capital cities. Otherwise, it’s a 2,226-kilometre (1,383-mile) drive from Perth, the capital city of Western Australia.
Not all that many people visit the west when they’re travelling in Australia and even fewer venture all the way up north to the Kimberley region, where Broome is located. Broome is isolated, that’s for sure – it’s closest towns are Derby, a three-hour drive to the east, and Port Hedland, six hours to the west.
