Summary- On December 5, 2018, a magnitude 7.6 earthquake struck off the east coast of New Caledonia. A tsunami warning is in effect for the region including the southern islands of Vanuatu (Taefa Province) with reports of waves up to 3 metres. The Ni-Vanuatun authorities are advising an immediate evacuation from coastal areas to higher grounds and you should remain there until the local authorities give the all clear.
